When it comes to winter sun there are certain destinations that are more popular than others. As well as having the sun you have to think about the kind of activities you want to be doing when on holiday as this can affect the ideal holiday destination for you. For example if you want to spend your holiday doing very little physical activity, shopping and sun bathing then you wouldnt want to go to a place that has sun, snow, plenty of outdoor activities for you to participate in and very little shopping facilities.

There are many destinations that are suitable for both those that like the laid back, relaxing holidays and those that like to be very active. Below are some of the destinations you can go to for winter sun and the various types of accommodation available at these different resorts and the many different activities on offer.

Destinations

As stated above there are different destinations that offer visitors very different experiences depending on what their personal preference is. A great destination for both those that want to relax in the sun and those that like to be very active on holiday is Cape Town. This is because it has great beaches for sun bathers but then also has a selection of activities such as water sports and land based activities to keep those that like being active entertained. As well as these activities there is also an abundance of wildlife that attract many people each year on there own from the safari game to the penguins along the beaches. There are then those that want the sun filled holiday but with out the beaches for example people that go on skiing or snowboarding holidays. Some of the most popular destinations for skiers and snowboarders are those situated around Spain and France because they have great snow coverage but are also very sunny for most of the year. These are great skiing conditions because they can enjoy the sun whilst still enjoying the snow and the sport itself.

Accommodation

As with the activities varying there is also different types of accommodation at each destination due to practicality for that countries particular weather conditions. For example at beach orientated holiday destinations there would be accommodation such as beach houses and open plan apartments with air conditioning systems. Where as at skiing destinations they would have things like chalets with log fires and double glazing as well as other systems such as this needed in an environment like that.
